Podcast #2: Paper Journals vs. Electronic

I’m all about journaling on paper and this podcast explains why. I also explore a few of the benefits of electronic journals, and I debunk all your favorite excuses for not writing by hand — including the fact that you can type really fast.

The podcast is about 14 minutes long. You can stream it right here on the website or you can download it to your computer to listen to later in iTunes or the media player of your choice.

I mention my favorite paper journal, the Blueline notebook, which I review here with photos of my own journals: Blueline Notebooks – a Love Story

I also mention a few entries in this podcast which I’ll list here for further reading.

  1. Yay! A new podcast, I’ve been waiting for ever! 😉 I too think there are benefits from both computer writing and hand-writing, and I too do both. Sometimes I need to write a lot, to get it out of me, then I write on the computer because it is faster. But I love that I am able to write on the train, at cafés etc in my moleskine diary or other notebook journal (right now it’s a moleskine), glue stuff in and take notes in it.

  2. Kristin, I love the podcasts, but I still want a hard copy book! 😉

  3. Hanna — I’m a big fan of gluing stuff into my journal, too! I used to write on the subway quite a bit but now I’m in a city with only buses and I can’t read my handwriting if I try that.

Leah — Okay, I’ll get on it!!

Thanks for the feedback you guys.

  4. Love it!! I want to curl up with my journal now and I know it’s just the thing I need. Sometimes in a pinch if I’m lazy I’ll journal on the computer but I totally agree…it really is more like math and by hand is more like painting. XOXO So great to hear your lovely voice, too.

  5. Thanks, lovey! Curl away. It’s so good for the soul.
